Soybean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade were narrowly mixed on Thursday, with slight losses in the front months. The Pro Farmer Crop Tour estimated soybean pod counts in Illinois at 1,430.37, down 3.3 percent from last year.

The USDA reported soybean export sales for the week ended Aug. 13 included 85,000 tonnes of old crop and 1.72 million for 2026-27, with China accounting for almost two-thirds of the latter. The sales were within trade expectations.

Corn futures were higher on Thursday due to spillover from crude oil. The Pro Farmer Crop Tour reported Illinois corn yields are down 7.7 percent based on a yield estimate of 184.19 bushels per acre.
