The US House has passed a bill to allow year-round sales of gasoline with 15% ethanol, known as E15. The current restriction prohibits E15 sales during the summer months.

Retailers like Petro Serve, which is based in West Fargo, are interested in selling E15 because it can be offered at a 15-cent discount to regular unleaded gas.

Dave Olson, bulk petroleum manager of Petro Serve, said that consumers 'are looking for a bargain' when they opt for E15.

The ethanol industry roundtable was hosted by Rep. Julie Fedorchak and included members connected to agriculture, which would benefit from easier access to corn-based ethanol.
