The US House is set to take up a bipartisan Russia sanctions bill this week as President Trump blames Ukraine's actions for the surge in diesel prices, which have reached $6.23 per gallon.

The legislation aims to increase pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war with Ukraine by allowing the president to impose tariffs of up to 100% on the world's top five purchasers of Russian oil or natural gas.

Trump claimed that Ukraine's recent actions are having a larger impact on the global supply of diesel than the war in Iran, which he and Israel jointly launched earlier this year.
