US-Iran Conflict Continues, Strait of Hormuz Remains Closed
The conflict between Iran and the US continues to escalate, with no signs of resolution in sight. In a statement on social media, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the US accepts defeat.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that his country has not decided to resume talks with the US and that Washington must meet conditions regarding the strait for shipping to resume. The Strait of Hormuz, which handles one-fifth of the world's oil, has seen no crude oil shipments in recent days.
In a rally in New York, President Donald Trump urged Americans to accept slightly higher gasoline prices as the cost of ensuring that 'a very evil country' does not get nuclear weapons. The average US price of a gallon of gasoline is currently $4.08, up 29% from last year.
