US-Iran Conflict Sends Gas Prices Soaring
The ongoing US-Iran conflict has sent shockwaves through the global energy market, driving up fuel prices in the United States. The latest exchange of blows between the two nations saw Iran targeting a US vessel attempting to enter the Strait of Hormuz, while the US responded by striking three Iranian oil tankers.
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gas has surged 39% compared to prices at the start of the war in late February, reaching $4.15 per gallon. Diesel prices have also hit record highs, climbing to $5.90 per gallon.
The conflict has been ongoing for over six months and is expected to continue impacting fuel prices. Higher diesel prices mean higher transportation costs for everyday goods, which can trickle down to consumers.
