US-Iran Stalemate Sends Gold and Silver Soaring in Pakistan
The ongoing US-Iran negotiations have stalled due to President Trump's demand for historical conflict compensation from Tehran. This sudden deadlock has led to massive volatility in precious metals, causing investors to flock to gold and silver as safe-haven assets. As a result, global oil prices are spiking, fueling fresh inflation fears.
In Pakistan, local Sarafa markets have adjusted their prices in response to the international shocks, pushing local gold and silver rates sharply higher. The current rates for 24K metal in Pakistan are Rs. 4,48,959 per tola, Rs. 3,84,916.3 for 10 grams, and Rs. 38,491.63 for 1 gram.
The international spot gold rate has dropped to $4,314.18 per troy ounce, while the spot silver rate has fallen to $63.922 per troy ounce. The sudden increase in demand for precious metals is causing local prices to surge, with investors seeking safe-haven assets amidst rising inflation fears.
