US-Iran Tensions Ease, Stocks Drift on Wall Street
Stocks on Wall Street closed in a mixed fashion on Monday as tensions between the US and Iran appeared to cool. The US and Iran had been engaged in a war, but the situation has eased somewhat with both sides pausing their attacks and resuming work on restarting negotiations.
The pause in hostilities led to a decline in crude oil prices. The news was seen as a positive development for global markets.
Investors were cautious, however, not wanting to get ahead of themselves given the volatile nature of international relations.
