The US has imposed a maritime blockade and tightened sanctions against Iran, but Tehran claims it continues to export crude oil. Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad said on February 27 that crude oil sales have not stopped, despite a decrease in volume. 'Crude oil sales have not stopped,' he stated.

The US has been trying to cut off Iran's main source of foreign currency: crude oil exports. To achieve this goal, Washington has raised the pressure by announcing an operation called 'Operation Economic Outcast.' This operation aims to sanction countries and organizations that trade with Iran. China is reportedly the biggest buyer of Iranian oil, accounting for over 80% of imports.

The US has designated various entities and individuals around the world as targets of its sanctions. These include ships and organizations that help generate revenue for the Iranian regime. White House press secretary Caroline Levitt told Fox News that the US will continue to impose such sanctions until Iran engages in meaningful dialogue.
