US, Israel, Saudi Arabia Plan Secret $5 Billion Oil Route
The U.S., Israel, and Saudi Arabia have been secretly planning to cut Iran out of the global oil supply chain by creating an alternative route for energy exports. The plan involves a $5 billion integrated refinery and energy export corridor located outside the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently controlled by Iranian forces.
The project, led by the MERA Oil consortium, includes a 200,000-barrel-per-day refinery linked to deepwater port infrastructure and marine export facilities. Its position outside the strait would provide a route-resilient export platform with direct access to international shipping routes.
Another option being explored is an overland pipeline built across the Saudi desert to the Israeli border, where it would connect to the Trans-Israel Pipeline. This plan has been endorsed by Israel's energy minister Eli Cohen and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
