US Launches 'Operation Economic Outcast' Against Iran
The US Treasury Department has launched an unprecedented economic campaign against Iran, dubbed 'Operation Economic Outcast', aimed at cutting the country off from the global financial system.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described the initiative as a shift from containing Iran to fundamentally undermining its economic ability to operate internationally.
The operation targets companies, individuals, vessels, and intermediaries involved in oil revenues, military procurement, cyber operations, and sanctions evasion across key sectors of Iran's economy.
