US LNG Boom Drives Demand for Specialized Storage Tanks
Global demand for liquefied natural gas carriers is expected to surge over the next decade. According to Gaztransport & Technigaz SA, a leading designer of storage tanks, the US will lead project growth with new export terminals. The company has revised its forecast, increasing the number of LNG carrier gas containment system design orders to 550 between 2026 and 2035.
The surge in demand is attributed to a significant increase in final investment decisions for new export terminals in recent quarters. This growth will drive up the need for specialized storage tanks and ships designed by Gaztransport & Technigaz SA.
GTT's revised forecast surpasses its previous estimate of over 450 design orders for the same period. The company's upgraded projection reflects the increased investment in LNG infrastructure, particularly in the US.
