US LNG Market Sees Surge in Feed Gas Demand as New Projects Come Online
The US LNG market is experiencing a surge in feed gas demand as new projects come online. Cheniere Energy's Corpus Christi plant, which has been undergoing routine maintenance, saw an increase in flows to support its operations.
According to Industrial Info Resources' NATGAS Today report, the amount of feed gas supporting operational export terminals along the US Gulf Coast rose to 16.88 billion cubic feet (Bcf) from prior-day levels of 16.11 Bcf.
The Golden Pass facility, a joint venture between Exxon Mobil Corporation and Qatar Energy, has also started taking in feed gas, with levels jumping 70% overnight to reach 586 million cubic feet. The plant is expected to have an export potential of about 1.72 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) at full capacity.
The federal government expects operational terminals to send out 17.4 Bcf/d of gas in the liquid form this year, a 15% improvement over 2025 levels.
