US LNG Prices Soar 40% Amid Reduced Production and Strong Asian Demand
The natural gas market has been experiencing volatility in recent times due to various factors. According to the latest report from Energy Intelligence, the average liquefied natural gas (LNG) price for October delivery at Sabine Pass was around $11.25 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), a 40% increase compared to September.
The increase in LNG prices can be attributed to reduced production in the US Gulf Coast and increased demand from Asia, particularly Japan and South Korea. This has led to a shortage of available supply, driving up prices.
On the other hand, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub in Louisiana have been relatively stable, trading around $5.50 per MMBtu for October delivery.
