US Missile Strike Hits Iranian Oil Tanker Near Kharg Island
A US missile strike hit an Iranian oil tanker near Kharg Island on Tuesday, prompting a senior Iranian commander to threaten attacks on American bases in the region.
The tanker was reportedly struck about 4 miles from Kharg Island, which is Iran's main maritime oil hub and handles around 90% of the country's crude oil exports.
No casualties were reported, but the crew was being evacuated from the vessel. The incident came after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have ambushed a US submarine in the region.
