US Natural Gas Prices Decline Amid Higher Production
The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) has released its weekly spot prices for natural gas as of July 31, 2026. The Henry Hub price stood at $2.93 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), a decrease of 3.8% compared to the previous week's price.
The EIA reports that the average natural gas price for the lower 48 states was $2.94/MMBtu, down from $3.05/MMBtu in the previous week. This decline is attributed to higher production levels and increased storage capacity.
While prices have decreased, experts warn that the natural gas market remains volatile due to factors such as weather patterns and global demand. The EIA advises consumers to continue monitoring market trends to make informed decisions.
