US Oil Production Reaches Record High Amid Tensions in Strait of Hormuz

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced that American oil and gas workers have pushed production to an all-time high, making the United States the world's largest producer of oil and natural gas.

This achievement is attributed to President Donald Trump's energy policies, which have strengthened domestic production and reduced costs. According to Wright, 'thanks to @POTUS' agenda, we're building on that success--unleashing American energy, strengthening our economy, and lowering costs.'

The increased production has come amid continued tensions over energy supplies and the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route. The US military has been assisting in the movement of energy supplies through the region, with Wright stating that 'more than 15 million barrels of oil and petroleum products were moved through the Strait of Hormuz with assistance from the US military on Tuesday.'

The seven-day average of oil leaving the Strait had risen above 8 million barrels per day, according to Wright. This development has contributed to a price rally in global oil markets, with Brent crude ending the week at around $94.39 a barrel and WTI settling at $87.06.
