US Olive Oil Imports Fall 27% as Global Suppliers Meet Growing Demand
The United States is one of the world's largest markets for olive oil imports. With domestic production unable to meet demand, American buyers rely on global suppliers around the Mediterranean. The total value of US olive oil imports reached $2.41 billion in 2025, a 27% decline from the previous year.
The top countries supplying olive oil to the US are Spain, Italy, Tunisia, and Greece. Spain accounts for 35.7% of total US olive oil imports, followed closely by Italy with 34.6%. The US imported 422,83 tons of olive oil in 2025, a significant market opportunity for exporters.
The top 10 olive oil importers in the US include Certified Origins Inc and Filippo Berio USA Ltd, with approximately $850 million in imports from Spain, Italy, and Tunisia. Shipment-level data identifies over 7,600 import shipments and 1,400 global suppliers serving US buyers.
