US Pipeline Capacity Set to Surge as LNG Demand Drives Growth
The US is poised to see significant growth in its pipeline capacity, with an estimated 44.9 billion ft3/d of new capacity expected by 2027. Much of this growth is driven by the increasing demand for LNG exports, particularly from the Permian Basin.
Several major projects are currently under construction or nearing completion. The Coastal GasLink pipeline in Canada will carry 2.1 billion ft3/d to Pacific LNG export projects, while the Blackcomb pipeline in Texas will add an additional 2.5 billion ft3/d of capacity from Waha to the Agua Dulce hub.
The Hugh Brinson pipeline, also in Texas, will connect West Texas production to existing infrastructure south of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, providing access to multiple destinations, including export facilities along the Gulf Coast.
