US Prioritizes Cheap Gas Amid Ongoing Iran War
The US Vice President, JD Vance, has revealed that keeping oil and gas prices low for Americans is the top priority amid the ongoing war in Iran. This comes as the US continues to impose a naval blockade on Iranian oil exports, which could be maintained indefinitely.
Oil prices are currently headed for a 4% weekly gain, with crude oil prices remaining above normal levels despite a decrease from early conflict highs. The national average price of gasoline has also remained above $4 per gallon this week, making it the highest August on record.
Vance stated that keeping oil and gas cheap is 'goal number one', followed by ensuring Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon. However, this contradicts an earlier US goal to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon at all costs.
