US Public Divided on Iran War as Gas Prices Continue to Rise
A new poll suggests that many Americans are questioning whether the war with Iran is worth the cost of rising gas prices.
The AP-NORC poll, conducted as the US and Iran paused attacks to restart negotiations for an interim ceasefire deal, found that seven in ten citizens consider preventing oil and gas prices from rising an important US foreign policy goal.
A significant majority - 64% - believe the war with Iran has not been worth it, while only 33% think it is worth the fight.
The poll also showed a split on how to handle the conflict, with three in ten Americans thinking the US should pause military action and seek a renewed ceasefire through negotiations.
