US Regulators Complete Environmental Review of Proposed Texas LNG Terminal
US regulators have completed the final environmental review of a proposed offshore liquefied natural gas export terminal in Texas. The ST LNG Deepwater Port project, located approximately 10.4 nautical miles off Matagorda, has been assessed to handle up to 8.4m tonnes per year.
The proposed terminal would utilize conventional carriers with capacities ranging from 125,000 cubic meters to 180,000 cubic meters for liquefied natural gas exports to both free-trade and non-free-trade agreement countries.
A final public hearing is scheduled for August 12 in Bay City, Texas. The publication of the final environmental impact statement moves ST LNG into the closing stages of the federal licensing process.
