US Sanctions 10 Chinese Shipping Firms Over Alleged Iranian Oil Transport
The US has imposed sanctions on 10 Chinese shipping companies and eight tankers that allegedly transported Iranian oil. The US State Department claims that these companies have been operating against US sanctions on Iranian oil exports.
The move effectively freezes the assets of the sanctioned companies in the US, prohibiting US companies and individuals from doing business with them.
China's Foreign Ministry has consistently opposed what it calls 'illegal unilateral sanctions' and 'long-arm jurisdiction', urging the US to halt such practices.
