US Sanctions Fail to Spook Oil Markets as Prices Slide
Oil prices continued to decline on Tuesday as investors assessed the impact of expanded US sanctions against Iran.
The Brent crude futures fell by $0.90, or 1%, to $91.27 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude declined by $0.76, or 0.9%, to $84.25 a barrel, according to Reuters.
Analysts noted that markets seemed largely unaffected by the latest sanctions push, with investors viewing increased economic pressure as posing less immediate risk to physical oil supplies than military action.
