US Sanctions Four Indian Firms Over Alleged Role in Iran Oil Imports
The US has imposed sanctions on four Indian companies and three individuals for allegedly facilitating Iranian oil imports. The move is part of Washington's efforts to cut off Tehran's energy revenue streams.
The targeted entities include Portease Partners LLP, Sadashiva Overseas Limited, PP Softtech Private Limited, and Prakrutees Infra Impex Private Limited. These companies were designated for knowingly engaging in significant transactions involving Iranian petroleum products.
The US State Department announced the sanctions on Monday, citing Executive Orders 13846 and 13949, which target Iran's petroleum revenue and alleged conventional arms proliferation.
