US-Saudi Strikes Revive Oil Price Fears Amid Iraqi Disruptions
Oil prices rebounded Wednesday after joint US-Saudi military strikes against Iran-aligned groups in Iraq revived concerns over potential disruptions to Middle East energy supplies.
The International benchmark Brent crude futures for October traded at $84.64 per barrel, up 3.12% from the previous close of $82.08.
US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures for September increased 3.57% to $82.09 per barrel, compared with $79.26 in the previous session.
The US military's Central Command said Tuesday that US and Saudi forces carried out joint precision strikes against Iranian-aligned groups and their sites in Iraq.
