US Secures Record Oil Deal in Venezuela, Strengthens Ties with South American Nation
The United States has entered into the largest oil deal in world history, securing over 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves from Venezuela at no cost to American taxpayers.
Under a partnership with private business and led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Interim President Delcy Rodriguez worked with US officials to finalize the deal. The administration hailed it as a Historic Transaction that strengthens ties between the two nations.
The acquisition will more than double American oil reserves, boost domestic supply, and substantially lower gas prices for Americans in the long term.
In related news, the White House confirmed US control of the Strait of Hormuz, releasing details on naval blockade operations. Since its resumption in July 2026, US forces have cleared Iranian mines from international shipping lanes, turned away 75 vessels attempting to breach the blockade, and facilitated the movement of nearly 1,500 commercial ships carrying 750 million barrels of crude oil.
This has maintained global commerce while cutting off Iran entirely, with zero Iranian oil exported through the Strait since the blockade began. As a result, Iran is losing approximately $13 billion per month in revenue, triggering a domestic fuel crisis, currency collapse, and rising inflation within the country.
