US Sinks Iranian Oil Tanker in Gulf of Oman Escalation
US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that it had sunk an Iranian oil tanker, M/T Kylo, in the Gulf of Oman. The strike was carried out as part of the US's continued naval and economic blockade aimed at crippling the Islamic regime.
CENTCOM chief Adm. Brad Cooper said in a statement that the message to the IRGC should be clear: 'If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost, taking out three of yours.'
The tanker was targeted along with three other Iranian vessels earlier on Saturday, following strikes against US Navy ships by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
