US Stock Futures Soar as Hopes Rise for Iran Deal
US stock futures surged on Monday night as oil prices plummeted and hopes rose that a resolution to the US-Iran war was within reach.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures jumped by 441 points, or 0.9%, while S&P 500 futures gained 0.9% and Nasdaq-100 futures advanced 1.2%.
President Donald Trump said that talks with Iran were 'proceeding nicely,' but warned that the US could go on the offensive if negotiations break down, which would lead to a 'larger-scale' exchange of fire than ever before.
Crude prices dropped sharply following Trump's comments, with West Texas Intermediate futures falling around 6%.
