US Stock Market Rallies on Strong Profits and Lower Oil Prices

The US stock market is experiencing a significant rally on Tuesday, with major indices nearing record highs. The S&P 500 briefly rose 2% before pulling back to around 1.9%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 1,017 points, or 1.9%, to its own record set the day before.

The rally is largely driven by strong corporate profits, with companies such as Palantir Technologies and Caterpillar reporting better-than-expected earnings and revenue growth. Palantir's CEO Alex Karp described the quarter as 'otherworldly' after the company's overall revenue leaped 93%.

Brent crude oil prices also fell 5.5% to $79.19 per barrel, easing concerns about inflation and pulling down yields in the bond market.
