US Stocks Close Mixed as Oil Prices Fall for First Time in a Week
The US stock market closed with mixed results on Friday as oil prices fell for the first time in a week.
The S&P 500 barely budged, rising just 3.68 points to 7,411.98, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 235.60 points to 51,947.25.
The Nasdaq, however, fell 161.87 points to 24,975.82 due in part to sharp losses from tech stocks Micron Technology and Broadcom, which dropped 7% and 2.7%, respectively.
The decline in oil prices was attributed to ongoing concerns about the impact of escalating tensions between the US and Iran on global energy markets.
