US Stocks Slip Amid Rising Oil Prices and Mixed Earnings

Stocks in the US edged lower on Thursday as oil prices rose and mixed earnings reports continued to roll in.

The S&P 500 fell 13.59 points, or 0.2%, to 7,709.96, moving further away from its record set on Tuesday but still on track for weekly gains.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 464.02 points, or 0.9%, to 53,885.10 and the Nasdaq composite fell 15.09 points, or 0.1%, to 26,348.35.

Some companies saw their shares rise after reporting better-than-expected earnings, including Warner Bros. Discovery which rose 1.7% and Molson Coors which rose 1.3%.

However, others fell sharply, with Honeywell Aerospace plummeting 23.2% after its results came in short of forecasts.
