US Stocks Waver Amid Iran Tensions, Tariffs
Wall Street stocks closed mixed on Friday as investors grappled with increasing tensions in the Middle East and the impact of new tariffs on global trade.
The S&P 500 barely budged, rising just 3.68 points to 7,411.98, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 235.60 points to 51,947.25. The Nasdaq, however, fell 161.87 points to 24,975.82 due in part to sharp losses from tech stocks Micron Technology and Broadcom.
Oil prices also declined for the first time in a week, with Brent crude falling 3.9% to $96.78 per barrel. This comes as tensions between the US and Iran continue to escalate, threatening global energy supplies.
