US Strikes Broaden in Response to Iran's Rebuilding Near Strait of Hormuz
US strikes on Iran have expanded to include new targets beyond previous waves, according to Channel 12. The US military has struck dozens of sites in the country, including tankers belonging to Iran's state-owned oil company as part of a 'tanker-for-tanker' policy. Under this policy, Washington will retaliate against an Iranian oil tanker each time Tehran attacks a vessel passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The latest strikes have also targeted air-defense systems, radar installations, and anti-ship cruise-missile launchers. Iran had recently begun moving weapons from the Tehran area toward the Strait of Hormuz, prompting the US military to warn President Trump that Tehran was re-establishing its capabilities in the area and that it was time to 'mow the lawn.'
