US Strikes Iran Again, Oil Prices Soar on Regional Tensions
The United States has launched another round of attacks inside Iran, targeting air defense assets and communications installations. According to U.S. Central Command, the operation was a response to recent attempted attacks by Iran on American service members and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
In retaliation, Tehran struck at Jordan, a U.S. partner, firing 13 missiles from Iranian territory. Jordan's armed forces reported that 10 of the missiles were knocked out by their air defenses, while the remaining three landed in remote areas without causing any injuries or deaths.
The regional response has been one of heightened alertness, with Bahrain issuing a warning to its citizens and urging them to move to safe locations. The market reaction has also been significant, with oil prices surging by 4.5% on Tuesday and continuing to climb in Asia on Wednesday.
