The US military has taken action against three Iranian oil tankers in response to an attempted missile attack on two Navy ships patrolling regional waters. CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper said that if Iran shoots at US forces, it will impose a higher economic cost by targeting its oil fleet.

Cooper emphasized, 'Let the message to the IRGC be clear: If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost -- taking out three of yours.'

The US bombed the M/T Downy off Kharg Island and the M/T Stark 1 near Jask, as well as completely destroyed the unladen M/T Kylo in the Gulf of Oman.

CENTCOM said these vessels were part of a 'multibillion-dollar shadow network' that finances IRGC and its regional proxies.
