US Strikes Iranian Oil Tankers in Retaliation for Missile Attacks
Iran has been hit by US military strikes for the second time in as many days. According to Iranian state-run media, missiles were launched towards US targets in Jordan following the latest American attacks.
The US had previously destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers, including the Kivik, Charminar, Horizon 1, Riesco, and Derya, which were located in the Gulf of Oman. The crews of these vessels were told to abandon ship before the attacks.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US will not allow Iran's attacks to go unanswered, saying 'Iran continues to try to hit U.S. naval ships. And for every time they do that or try to do that, they're going to lose tankers.'
