US Strikes Iranian Tankers in Retaliation for Missile Attacks
The US has launched airstrikes against multiple Iranian tankers in response to attempted missile attacks on a Navy warship, escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran.
This latest tit-for-tat strikes marks more than six months of conflict between the two nations, with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warning crews of oil tankers near ports in Kuwait and Bahrain to immediately leave their vessels due to potential US attacks.
The IRGC accused Kuwait and Bahrain of hosting US forces and assisting in the attacks, stating that the ships would be targeted in retaliation for US strikes on Iranian tankers.
