US Strikes Three Iranian Oil Carriers in Response to Naval Ship Attacks
US forces struck three Iranian oil carriers in response to attacks on US naval ships. The strikes were carried out by US Central Command, which oversees the US military in the Middle East.
Admiral Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command, said 'Let the message to the IRGC be clear: If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost, taking out three of yours.'
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had launched ballistic missiles at two US Navy ships. The IRGC responded by threatening intensified strikes against US military vessels in the region.
