US Strikes Three Iranian Oil Carriers in Retaliation
The US military has launched retaliatory strikes against three Iranian oil carriers in response to attacks on two US Navy warships, according to the U.S. Central Command (Centcom). The strikes targeted crude oil carriers located near Kharg Island and in the Gulf of Oman.
No US service members were harmed during the Iranian attacks, said Centcom Commander Adm. Brad Cooper.
The exchange of hostilities follows escalating military operations from both sides this week. After the US carried out roughly 100 strikes against Iranian targets on Tuesday, Tehran responded by targeting US military bases and allies in strikes across the Middle East.
