US Strikes Three Iranian Oil Tankers After Missile Attacks on Navy Ships
The US military conducted airstrikes on three Iranian oil tankers in retaliation for missile attacks on Navy ships, according to a statement from U.S. Central Command.
On Saturday, CENTCOM said it struck the vessels after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched two ballistic missiles at two Navy warships patrolling the sea.
CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper stated that 'If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost, taking out three of yours.'
The three Iranian oil tankers were part of a multibillion-dollar shadow network that funds the IRGC and its regional proxies, CENTCOM said.
