US Strikes Three Iranian Oil Tankers Amid Escalating Regional Tensions
The US military has struck three Iranian oil tankers in a move that further escalates tensions in the region.
The attack, which was carried out on Saturday, targeted vessels that were part of a shadow network helping to finance Iran's Revolutionary Guards and armed proxy groups operating across the region.
According to the US military, two of the Iranian oil carriers were 'permanently disabled', while a third tanker, which was unladen, was destroyed.
The US said it would not hesitate to defend its forces and destroy Iran's limited and exposed oil fleet if necessary.
