US Strikes Three Iranian Oil Tankers Amid Escalating Tensions
The US has launched airstrikes against three Iranian oil tankers in response to an alleged missile attack on two Navy warships. According to CENTCOM, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched ballistic missiles towards the ships, but a US aircraft carrier and guided-missile destroyer successfully evaded multiple attacks.
CENTCOM said that it permanently disabled one crude oil tanker off the coast of Kharg Island and another near Jask. A third oil tanker was attacked in the Gulf of Oman.
