US Strikes Three Iranian Oil Tankers Amid Escalating Tensions
The US military has escalated its actions against Iran, striking three Iranian oil tankers in response to what it called 'multiple unprovoked Iranian attacks' on Navy warships.
The strikes were carried out by a US aircraft carrier and destroyer patrolling the region, and no US personnel were hurt. According to the US military, two of the tankers were permanently disabled, while the third was destroyed.
The US claims that the tankers were part of a shadow network helping to fund Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard and its armed proxies in the region. The military also shared video footage of the strikes, warning that it would 'if necessary, destroy Iran's limited and exposed oil fleet.'
