US Strikes Three Iranian Oil Tankers in Gulf of Oman
The US military has carried out strikes against three Iranian oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, a day after President Donald Trump downplayed the conflict as 'small potatoes.'
The attacks come nearly a week after the US and Iran resumed hostilities following a month of relative calm.
A statement from the US Central Command said that two Iranian oil carriers were 'permanently disabled' and the third, unladen tanker was destroyed.
The tankers were targeted as part of a shadow network helping to fund Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard and its armed proxies in the region.
