US Strikes Three Iranian Vessels Amid Escalating Conflict
The conflict between the US and Iran escalated on Saturday as the US Central Command announced it struck three Iranian vessels in response to the IRGC firing ballistic missiles at two US Navy ships. The US military targeted one of the vessels off the coast of Kharg Island, where recent strikes have caused significant damage.
Ghalibaf warned that Iran would defeat the US in the economic war just as it defeated it in the military and diplomatic arenas. He emphasized the need for finding new alternatives to confront economic pressures from the American blockade of Iranian ports.
The Strait of Hormuz has become a central point of contention, with oil flows disrupted since the US began blocking Iranian oil exports in mid-April. The US Central Command's Admiral Brad Cooper stated that if Iran targets US ships, it will impose a greater economic cost by destroying more vessels.
