The United States has surpassed India to become Bangladesh's second-largest trading partner. According to recent data, two-way trade between the US and Bangladesh reached nearly $12.67 billion in the last financial year.

This figure is significantly higher than the $10.72 billion in trade that occurred with India during the same period. The US led by a substantial margin of $1.95 billion as trade with India declined and imports from Washington surged.

The increased trade between Bangladesh and the US was driven by rising demand for US products such as wheat, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and cotton.
