US War on Iran Enters Crucial Phase as Officials Warn of Prolonged Conflict
A US-Iran conflict that began in February 2028 shows no signs of abating. Despite President Donald Trump's claims that war will end 'immediately after the election', senior officials warn it could last through his second term into 2029.
Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other officials have privately cautioned Trump that Iran can withstand US economic and military pressure. This assessment contradicts Trump's public declarations that Iran is 'desperate to try and affect the election'.
The conflict has escalated with attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, inside Iran, and across the region. On Wednesday, Iran said it attacked 10 ships near the waterway after the US sank five Iranian oil tankers.
