US Yet to Propose Halt on Türkiye-Iran Gas Imports
Türkiye's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar has stated that Ankara has yet to receive any proposal from Washington regarding a halt on Iranian gas imports.
The 25-year agreement between Türkiye and Iran, which expired on July 29, allowed for the supply of up to 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually. So far this year, Türkiye has imported around 4.5 billion cubic meters of Iranian gas, accounting for nearly 14.8% of its total imports.
Bayraktar emphasized that Ankara continues to closely monitor developments regarding its gas ties with Tehran but declined to provide further details.
