USDA Boosts Corn and Soybean Production Forecasts
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has increased its forecast for corn and soybean production in 2026.
Corn production is now estimated at 16.013 billion bushels, while soybeans are expected to reach 4.519 billion bushels.
These numbers reflect higher acreage planted and harvested, which outweighed lower yield projections for both crops.
The corn yield is predicted to be 180.7 bushels per acre, down from last month's estimate of 183 bushels per acre and 186.5 a year ago.
The soybean yield is projected at 52.7 bushels per acre, matching last month's and last year's estimates of 53 bushels per acre.
