USDA Boosts Ukraine Grain Harvest Forecasts Amid Logistical Concerns
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has increased its forecast for Ukraine's wheat and corn harvests in the 2026/2027 marketing year. According to the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, the USDA expects wheat production in Ukraine to reach 25.4 million tonnes, up from a previous estimate of 24 million tonnes.
The upward revision is due to better-than-anticipated progress of the harvest and higher yields than previously projected. However, the export estimate appears cautious, with the USDA expecting wheat exports to reach 13.5 million tonnes, which is 1 million tonnes less than the previous estimate.
The corn harvest forecast has also increased, with the USDA estimating production at 31.8 million tonnes, up from a previous estimate of 30 million tonnes. The export estimate for corn remains unchanged at 22 million tonnes.
